Next up on our meet the makers series we have Ruth of Ruthfully.
Can you tell us a little about what you do?
I am a feltmaker. I make quirky creatures and pictures using British wool fibre. I also have a range of needle felting kits and greetings cards.
How did you get started?
I trained as Fine Artist and was a print maker for many years always drawn to working on and with fabric so when I discovered the potential of working with wool fibre I was mesmerised and still am!
Where are you from?
I am from Northamptonshire in England but have been living in Wales since 1993. I live a bit further North more in the wilds of Wales by the sea. I moved to Wales for love and stayed for my children.
What’s your favourite part of what you do?
I love being able to make new things on a regular basis.
What’s your favourite item to make?
My favourite item will always be the next one I make and as yet there is no listing for that!
What inspires you?
Nature, colour, birds, pattern, wool, shells, plants, the sea, shadows, raindrops, clouds, my cat…..
What was your proudest moment?
My teenage daughter willingly helping me on a stall because my work was cool enough!
If you could pass any law what would it be?
Ban tabloid newspapers
If you won a million pounds what would you do?
Worry, spend some, give some away and worry some more
